Profile of Prof. Shimoda

■ Biography Atsushi Shimoda received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in 1988 and 1990 from Waseda University, and Ph.D. degree in Information Science in 2010 from Osaka University. He joined the Production Engineering Research Laboratory, Hitachi, Ltd., Yokohama in 1990. He engaged in the development of visual inspection system, product configuration management system, and evaluation method of design quality. Since 2012, he has been with Chiba Institute of Technology. His research interest is development management method under uncertainty.
■ Projects We are studying the development management method required for the "VUCA(*)" era with a goal-oriented approach. (*) VUCA: Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity
